A spring gathering exploring art, grief, and creative lineage.
Through a practice of creative mediumship, we commune with deceased artists who worked on the fringes, listening for the wisdom, stories, and themes their work still carries. Participants create and share their own work in conversation with these artistic ancestors.

What Is Flowers on a Table?
Flowers on a Table is an invitation to spend time with artists who are no longer living, but whose work continues to speak.
Together, we explore the lives, creative practices, and enduring questions of artists whose work emerged from the edges of culture. Through discussion, reflection, and creative prompts, we consider what these artists might still have to teach us about artmaking, grief, devotion, identity, and the human experience.
Participants respond through their own creative practices, creating work that enters into conversation with the artists we encounter.
Creative Mediumship
At the heart of Flowers on a Table is a practice we call creative mediumship.
Rather than seeking answers, we practice attentive listening. We approach artworks, archives, stories, and creative processes as forms of communication that continue beyond a person's lifetime.
What wisdom remains in a body of work after an artist has died?
What questions continue to echo?
What becomes possible when we create in response?

At the completion of each course, every participant in Flowers on a Table receives an original art print created in collaboration by Meghan Allynn Johnson and Narinder Bazen. Every print is made specifically for that semester through a process of creative communion with the late artists whose lives and work accompany us throughout the season, making each edition unique to its particular gathering.

Flowers on a Table meets 2x/month from April - June for a total of 6 classes.

This 3 month program is an investment of $375.
Early bird registration promotions to be announced.

Due to the nature of our work and Narinder's petite business, there will be no cancellations and no refunds for past sessions/payments. Payments for all Nine Keys Studio classes support artists.

The nature of this particular group is meant to build & encourage consistency. Through consistency we develop intimacy and connection with others. Therefore registration will close on the day of the first class.

If you can't make it to all meetings, that is okay, though consistent participation is highly suggested.
There will not be any recordings for missed events. Magic lives inside that present moment togetherness.
