The Schoolhouse is where Nine Keys began - with the death midwifery course.
The Nine Keys Death Work Apprenticeship is an in-depth interdisciplinary course for those who feel ready to question the current death care and grief conversation, blur boundaries, and imagine new ways of being with death.
You don’t have to call yourself an artist or a death doula to enter these doors. But you do have to be willing to let your creativity rise, your perspective shift, and yourself be transformed inside of this death work arts school.
Come as you are. Be prepared to be remade.
The Studio
Creative Practice + Death Arts
The Studio is a creative space for artists, makers, death workers, and curious souls. It’s a place to sit with the mysteries of life and death through art, story, ritual, and shared practice.
Here we gather around the creative fire - making, wondering, experimenting, and following the threads that emerge from our art when we slow down enough to listen. Through courses, workshops, occasional original artwork and bespoke art materials, and collective practices, the Studio invites you to explore what happens when art-making and death work meet.
Bring your curiosities. Bring your unfinished projects. Bring the strange things that have been waiting for your attention.
The Studio is a place to be inspired, to create, collaborate, and to become.
The Laundromat
Membership + Community Gathering Space
The Laundromat is where the community gathers to catch up and get things done. It’s place for connection, conversation, and continued practice.
This little building is home to Nine Keys memberships and The Tenth Key. Watch your step, or you may stumble through the hidden doorway to the brand new Speakeasy (coming Fall 2026).
